Thanks for thinking of us! In addition to this posting, I will drop a note in our monthly ePacer newsletter.

Hello and thanks for the interest. Unfortunately, I have sold my one Official Pace Car Decal already. I am planning to put my remaining memorabilia together on a list, and in the next few months, I will post here and then list on Ebay anything that is left. I'm targeting to sell in the Mar - Apr timeframe.

I was also tempted over the weekend when it hit 60 or so.... but, already had the cars down for the long winter sleep.... Counting down the days to the Rolex 24 ... the opening of race season! And Barrett Jackson and all of those hours of TV coverage...

Thanks for the heads up Bruce. I will put this bit of info on the website tonight. It is too bad about the closing. I know there will be mixed feelings, since it seems people have that "love/hate" feeling about the place, but I too felt the history when I stayed there, and it was really close to the track. Actually, when we were there earlier this year, there was talk of building a new hotel, possibly across the street, large enough to accommodate more of the race day fans, especially since the motel was aging. They had talked about it being ready for the 2010 race, but with today's economy, who knows what will happen.

Yes, with some exceptions. In 07, only the Pace car had the new wheels. You could buy the rear spoiler and paint it, etc. Only thing really hard to get are the seat skins and Indy emblems if you want them - but even they can be had if you know the right process. So you could get a "non-pacer" for several grand less sticker.

For sure there was no "decal delete" option in any pace car year. If you look at the copy of the window sticker with the 07, it even lists the decal package, and the MSRP price is correct for a "normal" manual transmission car. So, someone either buffaloed the dealer, or I guess it is possible that someone with enough pull could order one without the graphics, but there is no supporting evidence of that, and no price adjustment for it.

What is an Avatar you ask? Well if you glance left, you will see a photo of my 2007 Pace car. Avatar's can be photos like mine, or graphic images of any type you like. There are two ways to set this up. First, you can select an Avatar image from a "generic" image file, or you can point to an online location where you store your own photo / image to use. For example, if you have a personal webpage, etc. If you do not have access to store your image, feel free to email it to: CommDirector@pacecarregistry.com and it will be uploaded and stored on our own website. Here are the instructions to follow to setup your Avatar: 1. First, after you logon to the FORUM, select "PROFILE" from the top menu. 2. Select "Modify Profile" 3. TO SELECT A GENERIC AVATAR - Scroll down to "AVATAR". The default is "None" - If you want to select one of these Avatar's, do so, and skip step number 4 below. 4. TO USE YOUR OWN CUSTOM IMAGE AS AN AVATAR - Select "Avatar URL" (Note: The "Avatar" option should be kept at "NONE", unless you want to use one of the default images provided"). If you would like to use your own custom avatar, enter the full http:// URL to it in this box. You can specify your own custom width and height for your avatar. Avatars must be no more than 100x100 pixels in size.5. Update the Avatar Width and Height fields with the size of your image. 6. Scroll down and click "Modify Profile". That's it! If you have any problems, contact the Webmaster at the email address earlier noted.

Hello Registry Members and Registrants! With Winter just upon us, here is something to get our spirits back up!
We want to know if you are planning to attend the National Corvette Museum's "15th Anniversary Celebration/2009 Caravan" scheduled for September 3 - 5, 2009. We will be deciding if we want to schedule an informal brunch or dinner one day for the Registry.
Official Statement about the next "Official" PCR Reunion Planning
Since 2001, the Registry has been meeting once every two years in September for a Reunion of our Pace car enthusiasts. This event has historically been co-hosted with the National Corvette Museum (NCM) and is open to all of the various Corvette Pace and Festival cars.
Although the next date on the schedule would be 2009 following the original schedule, the close proximity of this event to the 15th Anniversary NCM Celebration has led the Pace Car Registry to request a sabbatical so that members can take part in the National Corvette Caravans and the 15th Anniversary Celebration if they so choose.
The recent 2008 Reunion was a change in plan and we felt we needed to participate at the Speedway to help recognize and celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the first Corvette Pace car (1978), and to support GM's 100th anniversary celebration. With that said, at this point in time, our plan is to meet formally again in 2010, so watch the website and e-Pacer for more details as we begin the event planning process.
Please note that the change in our plans occurred after the NCM published their 2009 event schedule, so please be aware of that.
We hope that PCR Members and Registrants take the time to complete this poll so we can have some direction on your Sept. 2009 plans.
Thanks.

Update - ok, Chino has been mailing out these photos to participants. If you don't have yours yet and want to check on the photo delivery - here is Chino's contact info.. chino@fotobychino.com Here is the latest message from Chino : "If you go to www.fotobychino.com and click on "view your photos" and enter the following password "26350232" (without the quotes) you will be able to view the images we made and identify your vehicle. Email me the image number/s and I will be able to tell you when your prints were sent out. I do have a handful of prints that have been left behind due to incomplete addresses or no entry card turned in and in doing this we can eliminate that possibility."

nitehawkcs
I have quite a bit of leftover 95 Pace car memorabilia, etc., that I will be listing, but I will probably wait until March / April since I believe the Pace car market on Ebay picks up right before the race.

Bruce, yes other than eating too much turkey as usual - and that I had to blow about 4" of snow Tues. evening! I love these Thursday holidays - I decided to work the Friday after this year and am getting a lot done since there are no project meetings! Then I still get a 2-day Weekend! Have a good one and stay in touch!

Hi Mike. I have seen a few. Attached is a photo of another PCR member who put on the chrome "z06" style wheels (this was taken before the chrome "split spoke" wheels were available to purchase. Personally I'm a fan of keeping Pace cars stock, since they are a special edition, but since I also like to customize my Vettes (and have another car for that purpose) I can appreciate when someone wants to add a little more color to the engine bay with snap on parts or spruce up the wheels. As long as you can return it to stock condition to preserve the value in a resale, go for it!

If anyone is interested, I have also just listed (1) NOS "OFFICIAL PACE CAR" door decal for a 1995 on Ebay. Since I sold my 95 I have some items I will be listing in the weeks to come.
