Pace Car Info & Items

Hello All,

I am new to the Registry and the Pace Car owner ship..This is my 5th Corvette but first pace car. I want to know what Items I should have gotten for my track car it was #29 and as much info as i can on the car and how to track these items down.

Any Help would be Great...

Great help on the web site today . Called the NCM and they have the book for my car. They are giong to send it to me. The only Down side is the $100 they want as a donation . I feel as it was forced and not as a request.

Money well spent! I wish they did this for my 93 when it was new. What will happen to the books people do not want? Can I buy one of those? ;D

Yeah, I guess possession is 9/10 of the law... I'm happy that we have someone like the NCM who is holding on to these and trying to make sure they get to the right owners. For 2007 and 2008, these books were made and were SUPPOSED to go along with the cars to the first owner of record when it was titled. Chevrolet "donated" the remaining books that were not distributed yet to the NCM to be used as fund raisers for the museum. I bought my 2007 a week after the race from Bill Estes Chevrolet in Indy, and it did not have the License plate, Bowtie keychain, or photo book with it, but it took me a year to find everything and my documentation search was completed around June of 2008.

It was a great idea to do these, but it sounds like Chevy had no way to actually make good on their delivery plans. I'm not sure if they are doing this again with the 2009 track / festival cars or not.

At least I think the NCM is working this so you can take the $100 tax write off, right? My guess is that they will hold on to these indefinitely as an asset and still attempt to get them to their rightful owners. Did you pickup a repro window sticker and the real build sheet from the NCM also?

Yes,

I got the build sheet and dupe of the window sticker, still need the license plate.

Found out the Mayor of Indy was the big wig that drove car and I have called his office and trying to get him to sign some stuff and see if he has the plate.

Hopping to get him to come out to the speedway on Sept. 3rd for the caravan.

I would send him a "donation". You could also try driving the car to his office so he can see it again and how important it is to you. he was a new mayor so he may also have some photos of it. I did this with my 93 Pace car and got the plate and some other cool stuf. Mayor Ballard has car #7 this year. A Silver Camaro ;D SS.
