Brickyard Crossing Hotel Closing !

Just heard they are to close the Brickyard Crossing Hotel. It was not a very fancy place but I know for me it held a lot of memories there of the early pace car reunions. It will be interesting to see what they do with the land. Pace car museum anyone?

Thanks for the heads up Bruce. I will put this bit of info on the website tonight. It is too bad about the closing. I know there will be mixed feelings, since it seems people have that "love/hate" feeling about the place, but I too felt the history when I stayed there, and it was really close to the track.

Actually, when we were there earlier this year, there was talk of building a new hotel, possibly across the street, large enough to accommodate more of the race day fans, especially since the motel was aging. They had talked about it being ready for the 2010 race, but with today's economy, who knows what will happen.

It will be very interesting to see what happens. I kinda wonder how crowded the track will be this year with the economy.
