2007 pace cars wheels, painted sterling silver, were an early debut of the 2008 split spoke styled wheels painted sparkle silver. But it seems some 07 pace cars came equipped with the sparkle silver wheels.
My 07 track car # 28 has the sterling wheels, but due to some pitting, I've been trying to replace them. Last year I bought a used set of wheels from a 07 pace car, had them shipped 1000 miles, only to discover later that they were painted sparkle silver. Then recently, I saw on eBay a 07 pace car for sell equipped with ZR1 wheels, but the seller said he had the original wheels that he would sell separately. He sent me high resolution pix of them.
When I zoomed in on the wheels, it's very obvious to me that they were sparkle silver wheels also, not the sterling silver wheels like mine. So I'm thinking GM must have made some production run changes on the 2007 pace car wheels, where some late production models received the sparkle silver wheels instead of sterling silver.
So I'm still looking for a set of Sterling Silver wheels. 210-394-5659

Interesting question. To my knowledge, for the 2007 production run, only Pace car replicas had these rims and they were Sterling Silver. They then became option wheels for 2008 Corvettes with the "Sparkle silver" paint. Pace car production ran from roughly March 1 thru June 21, so I highly doubt that the Sparkle Silver wheels were even around at that time. If anyone has evidence of these going on Pace cars we would really like to see that.

I know this is an old post but I've been trying to get an answer to this question for the last 2 & 1/2 years since I bought my pace car used (2nd owner). I bought my 07 pace car from a Corvette only dealer in Reading PA and when I discovered the car had sparkle silver wheels I couldn't understand why the rims would have been switched but reading this post may have answered my question. Has anyone gotten any more info regarding this subject. My build number is 386 if that helps.
