I'm picking up my new pace car convertible tomorrow. It is #15 and was an event car.
I'm so excited. ;D
I already have the photo album from the NCM. Betty said she didn't have any license plates for the 2008. Does anyone know if they are available?
Or does anyone have a good picture of one. I might be able to get a close reproduction made for use at car shows.
Did I mention that I'm so excited.....

Congrats on a great car! I'll look to see if I can find a pic of the license plate, but I bet someone on this forum will have one.

Call Betty back at the museum and see if she may have a sequence plate for '08? Would be better than nothing.

Got her back home last night. So much fun to drive - even for an automatic. You can sure tell there are more horses than the C5!
This is definitely not a subtle car. I got lots of looks from people and comments whenever we stopped. Usually people asking if I wanted to trade for their ride. ha ha. I love it.

I'm having a close reproduction of the license plate made by a local sign company to use for shows and such. When I get it I'll post a pic. I know it won't have the checkered flag background.
The lady said she can make them for about $25 (does not include shipping or taxes if applicable). I told her there were only 60 event cars. She said she wasn't going to market the plates or mass produce them but if anyone wants one she will make them. No minimum orders.
Once I get mine and see how it looks I'll let y'all know.

I had a replica made for my 2007 track car. It was made by Out Front License Plates on eBay. Excellent results, made on a metal blank, and only cost about $20. Here's a link:http://stores.ebay.com/Out-Front-License-Plates?_rdc=1 Attachments:

Yes, I purchased two of their "decorative" license plates.... one for my 07 and one for my 10 Camaro. I also have the "real" Track car plates for both as well as the 07 Sequence number plate. If you have never seen one of the real plates, theirs look ok. But comparing to the real thing, their background is not close, and the colors are also way off from the real things. But, if you don't have your plate that came with the car, and they are not too close side by side to a real plate, for the price it will look fine to most people. I'm surprised that the Speedway has not found them on Ebay yet and shut them down, since I really doubt these are "Speedway" licensed....

One other thing i noticed with the replica plates vs real IMS/Chevy plates are the size ao the plate holes.

2007 Corvette plates were 1-56, and 91. My track plate #18 does not have bar codes. My 2010 Camaro plate #18 does have a bar code. When did they start that, in 09 or 10?
