My New Plate

Hello all, nice forum we have here, we just need a little more activity now ;D

I just wanted to say hello to everyone and show off my new license plate on my 78 Pacer.

Yup thats it. The only difference between the two plates is mines in better condition. I purchased this from a gentleman who collects license plates. This guy buys license plate collections and bought a collection from a guy who worked for the Indiana Dept. of Motor Vehicles. It is the same plate that is on the original First Corvette Pace Car. Now, don't ask me what I paid for this

Troy, I would recommend contacting LaVelle, the 2008 year director. I know he has located the plate for his car and may be able to help you out. I don't think he gets on the forum much so I would recommend dropping him an email. Good luck with your search. The plates are really neat pieces of memorabilia. If you need help getting a hold of him let me know.

Do you know if there are plates for the 1995 year Pace cars? I asked the person that I purchased my car from, and he indicated that there were not special plates.

Little late for an answer but there were plates for all year Corvette Pace and Festival cars. I have the original plate for my 1995 Festival car. #56

There is collectors out there that will trade or sell plates out of there collections because maybe they have found lower numbers, etc.

Yes they did have plates in 1995 - here is a photo of the track car I once owned, #137 with the plate installed.

With a real stroke of luck, I was able to locate the build sequence plate #57 for my 2007 pace car. I'm the 3rd owner, and the prior owners never had seen the plate. I found it in the hands of a collector, and had to pay dearly for it. Now, if I could only find the track/festival plate #28 for my car..

From the same collector, I also found the pewter and brass key chain #28 that was used with my car during the 500 Festival. He has some others, so contact me for info.
