I;m trying to find my 78 L82 Pace Cars's history - the VIN shows me it was built in St Louis but in trying to travk the ownership / title history the Texas DNV takes me a sfar a the 3rd owner before me in Albuquerque in 1994. The NM DMV is unable (or un willing) to track it before then. Will anyone help or suggest anything?
Thanks

Hello, LaVelle Hunt here from the Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum. I'm sure you are aware that AL Unser Sr. and Jr. are from Albuquerque and that AL won the '78 Indy 500 and was awarded a L82 pacecar for his victory. How cool would it be that you have AL's pacecar??? Well, that would be real cool, but probably not the case as I spoke with AL back in '08 during the 500 and he assured me that he still had his original car with no miles on it, resting in his own museum open to the public, "Unser Racing Museum"! However, if you would call the museum and ask for Cathy Brock, executive director of the museum for AL, you may still be able to find out some history on this car, or they may have some pull with the dmv and be able to help you out? Cathy is a very nice gal and obviously AL is a legend and 4-time winner of the famed 500! Hope that helps! Let us know what takes place. Attachments:

Thank you for your reply. It would indeed be major cook if my car was anywhere near having been Al's. I have been to the 2007 and 2008 500's and believe I was able to shake habds with both big and little Al but cannot validate. I will try to contact Ms. Brock and see what we can find and I'll certainly keep you posted.
