;D Today I saw 23 of the new 2009 Indy Festival Corvettes without decals. I'll post a photo as soon as I figure out how to on this website.

Hi Lee. Our website software only allows posting of photos that are online. So, if you have them up on a website you can click on the photo box in the tag section, and insert your url for your photo(s) in between the "img" labels, or you can email them to me and I will post on your behalf on the Forum.

Thanks for posting a sneak peak Lee93 and Bob. Lot's of mixed reviews of the Camaro paint scheme form the members of Cararo5.com etc.--similar to the reaction the Daytona Camaro got back in February. I saw two of the Camaro's with the Daytona scheme up close this past weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway races (I'm assuming they're the same two NASCAR actually used at Daytona)--IMO they look better in person.
I'm hoping they do more than just event door decals and IMS logos on the quarters this year on the Indy Festival cars. Given the state of General Motors these days they probably don't want too much flash--the old perception/reality song--no matter who's paying for the prep. on the cars. On that topic, does anyone know if GM or IMS actually pays for the prep.? I guess National is still providing the cars in association with GM,

I would try to chime in on this but I think Bob can better explain the situation of how the track gets cars.

Bob, did you go to indy or did someone else take the photos of the dressed cars?

Photos so far were provided by a friend on the ground in Indy. Corvettes will be used as "festival cars" since they are convertibles and will carry the drivers in the Parade, and some Camaro coupes I'm told will be used for "Track" officials to use. I'm trying to get the exact counts from a friend at the Speedway. Keep checking the website for more details. Fully dressed Corvette photos have been posted now. I like them ... they are low key, but they get the message across, and yes, I personally liked the Daytona Camaro pace car better than Indy's!
That's a good question about who actually pays for the graphics, and my guess would be Chevrolet since they are providing the cars to the Speedway.

Bob, do you know if it is national that still does the prep?

They do the PDI. Graphic Concepts puts most of the decals on. (Obiousoy the 2007 and 2008 came in with the decals.) They also handle the logistics to the Speedway.

Cool, thanks for the update. If you should see them at local events, like if the Festival committee members are going to take them down to Monument Circle again, we would appreciate any photos you could pass on if you are there!
