Welcome. You got one of the prettiest Corvette Pace Cars built. But I'm biased. ;D

Are there any sources for pace car shirts?
I would like to have a polo shirt with my pace car embroidered on the front. The NCM has a shirt you can customize with some information about you car but all they have would be things like 2008 C6 convertible.
I could go to an embroidery shop but would have to pay for setup. If there was someplace that was already set up I could save some money.

I emailed Mequiars about waxing the decals. Here is their response:
You could safely use our waxes on decals as long as they don't have any sort of texture to them, and as long as you are using a wax that doesn't have any cleaners or abrasives in it. If the decals on your pace car are smooth to the touch you could safely use NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 or Ultimate Wax. Just apply a very thin and even coat, don't build up an excessive amount of wax around the edges of the decal, and avoid working in aggressively and you will be fine.
Alternatively, you could always use both our Ultimate Quik Detailer and Ultimate Quik Wax with a high quality micro fiber towel, and that would be safe and effective on the decals as well.

Have you tried contacting Betty Hardeson at the National Corvette Museum? She may very well have your plate, and possibly the photo album for your car? Give her a try! Congrats on the purchase of your "new" '08 Pace Car! Planning to bring it to the Pace car Reunion in Indy? I did talk to Betty. She said she does not have the 2008 plates. I did get the photo album. Can't make the Pace Car Reunion. Maybe next year. I've never been to the Indy 500. Would love to experience it.

Decided to start a new thread just on IMS license plates since there were some messages buried in other threads.
I tried contacting Chevrolet to see if they could find my #15 IMS license plate. I was surprised that I got an email and then phone call within a day of me emailing them.
The guy was really nice but the best he could do was to get a letter of authenticity saying that my car was used at the Indy 500.
I don't know if he ever understood that I was looking for the plate used on the car.
I saw a message where Chevrolet would mail you a letter or packet to the first registered owner. My car has never been registered. I wonder if they would still do that after 3 years.
Has anyone received their official plate from Chevrolet?

I'm having a close reproduction of the license plate made by a local sign company to use for shows and such. When I get it I'll post a pic. I know it won't have the checkered flag background.
The lady said she can make them for about $25 (does not include shipping or taxes if applicable). I told her there were only 60 event cars. She said she wasn't going to market the plates or mass produce them but if anyone wants one she will make them. No minimum orders.
Once I get mine and see how it looks I'll let y'all know.

A "completely" documented car would have come with the following items : - And I am trying to confirm, but there should have been a keyfob with a numbered disk that matched the event car number.
My car is #15 - decal on the lower left windshield, behind the license plate, and on the transfer document for use at the Indy 500 - and there is a brass disk with a "15" attached to the key fob.

Got her back home last night. So much fun to drive - even for an automatic. You can sure tell there are more horses than the C5!
This is definitely not a subtle car. I got lots of looks from people and comments whenever we stopped. Usually people asking if I wanted to trade for their ride. ha ha. I love it.

I'm picking up my new pace car convertible tomorrow. It is #15 and was an event car.
I'm so excited. ;D
I already have the photo album from the NCM. Betty said she didn't have any license plates for the 2008. Does anyone know if they are available?
Or does anyone have a good picture of one. I might be able to get a close reproduction made for use at car shows.
Did I mention that I'm so excited.....
